SALEMBURG
Mr. Amos Street Sessoms, 83 of 635 Richard Road, died on Monday, May 17, 2010 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 3:30 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home with Rev. William Tew and Rev. W.O. Reiber officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.
Mr. Sessoms was born to Thomas and Lena Sessoms on October 26, 1926 in Salemburg. He spent most of his life in Salemburg. He was preceded in death by: his wives, Jane Barefoot Sessoms and Ruth Nunnery Sessoms; two brothers, Tobe Sessoms, Fleet Sessoms; and two sisters, Nancy Jane Parker and Sarah Frances Beard.
He leaves behind several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was a member of the Salemburg Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church. His nephew, Archie Sessoms and wife, Katherine were very special to him in his lifetime. Street had lived with them for the last eleven years. His niece Loudelia was the one who always took care of his medical needs by taking him to the doctor.
God works in mysterious ways. He will always do what is best although we don't always like it. Life always turns out for the best in the long run.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro, and other times at home.
