STEDMAN

Mr. Amos Jefferson "Jeff" Maxwell, 76 of 5177 Sessoms Avenue, Stedman, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at his home.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, March 7, at Stedman Baptist Church, 7750 Clinton Road, Stedman, with Pastor Phil Spears officiating. Interment will follow at Fisher Cemetery, Magnolia Church Road, Stedman.

He was born August 23, 1940 in Sampson County and was the son of the late Oscar Browning and Alice Theodora Sessoms Maxwell. He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Belva Hall Maxwell. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and retired from Briggs and Stratton.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Carver Maxwell of Stedman; granddaughter, Kate Maxwell; and sister, Emma Dineen of Wilmington.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Monday, March 6, at Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman, and other times at the home.
