Mr. Alonzo Parrish, Iii

STEDMAN Mr. Alonzo Parrish, III, 75, of Stedman, died September 27, 2013. The funeral will be held Monday, September 30, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at Cokesbury United Methodist Church in Stedman with Rev. Francis Daniel and Rev. James Koo officiating. Burial will follow in the Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Parrish was born on June 22, 1938, in Johnston County to the late Alonzo Parrish Jr., and Magolene Allen Parrish Bowen. He was a school teacher for the North Carolina Public School System for 25 years. He is survived by: his wife, Rev. Carrie W. Parrish of the home; two daughters, Julia Parrish Riddle of Huntersville, NC and Margaret Parrish Colvin and husband, John of Concord, NC; five grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Riddle, Zachery Parrish Riddle, James Terry (J.T.) Riddle, Ava Grace Colvin and Madalyn Julia Colvin. The family will receive friends Sunday night September 29, 2013, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cape Fear Valley Hospice Foundation, 1830 Owen Drive, Suite 203, Fayetteville, NC 28304 or Methodist Home for Children, 1041 Washington Street, Raleigh, NC 27605.
