Mrs. Alene Marie Tanner, 81

AUTRYVILLE

Mrs. Alene Marie Tanner, 81 of 390 Tanner Lane, Autryville, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Tanner was born on October 14, 1934 in Cumberland County and is preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Tanner Sessoms; husband, Alton Tanner; daughter, Lacie T. Wilson; sister, Polly Sessoms; and brothers, Peyton Sessoms, Jasper Sessoms. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her children, Alton Tanner, Jr. of Yadkinville, George Franklin Tanner of Autryville, Susan T. Lewis of Harrells, Charlie Tanner of Autryville, Lisa Lockwood of Roseboro, Cher Lynn Brown of Garland; 11 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; brothers, Roy Sessoms of High Point, Clayton Sessoms of Currie, Horace Sessoms of Autryville, Leroy Hall of Clinton; and sister, Mary Tanner of Autryville.

The visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am Tuesday, February 23, at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro. A graveside service will follow at Moses-Faircloth Cemetery, Autryville.
