ROSEBORO
Rev. Albert Glenn Stewart, 55 of 14070 Boykin Bridge Road, Roseboro, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at his home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, December 27, at Carr's Chapel Free Will Holiness Church, 1641 McDaniels Road, Roseboro, with Reverend Billy Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Born January 30, 1962 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Loyd and Alene Garner Stewart. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Dwight Stewart. He worked as a Farm Manager with Murphy Family Farms.
Glenn enjoyed the simple things of life. Spending time with his family was one of his favorite pastimes. He especially loved the "adventures" of short distance travels with his brother Bryan. His family was important to him and he loved each one of them unconditionally. But more importantly he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His faith and trust in Almighty God sustained him through all of his difficult times in life.
At the age of 18, Glenn heard and accepted the calling of the Lord on his life. He joined the Carr's Chapel Freewill Holiness Church and later became a licensed minister through the Trent River Freewill Holiness Association. He served honorably and faithfully in ministry and will be remembered for helping others. He will remain known as his "brother's keeper" to many who leaned on him for love, support and guidance through their own lives. His willingness to help others in their difficult times was immeasurable.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Avery Stewart of the home; son, Preston Stewart of the home; brother, Bryan Stewart and wife Elizabeth of Atkinson; niece, Hannah Stewart; and nephew, Bryson Stewart.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45pm Wednesday prior to the service, and other times at the home.
Services are entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
