Mrs. Aki Saito Fowler, age 81 of 2328 Grant Avenue, died on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mrs. Fowler was a native of Atsugi, Japan. She is preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Betty Ann Fowler. She lived in this area for 33 years, having moved here in 1977. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Fowler is survived by: her husband, Joel Fowler of the home; two sons, James Fowler, Sr. of Lakewood, WA, and Thomas Fowler of Charlotte; two grandchildren, James Fowler, Jr. and Brandi Fowler; one brother, one sister, and 24 nieces and nephews in both the U.S. and Japan.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
Mrs. Fowler is remembered by those who knew her as a loving and caring person. She was a good wife, mother and friend to many. She enjoyed being with her friends and working with her flowers.
