Autryville
Agnes Basse Spell, 95 of Autryville entered the gates of Heaven on December 12, 2020. She spent her final days at home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born to the late Charlie and Lula Basse on October 1st, 1925, she was the youngest of 8 children. She adopted the nickname of "Tootsie" that was given to her by her father. She graduated from Clement High School in 1944 and married her sweetheart, Odell Spell within the next few years. Together they were blessed with three sons, Dwight, Timothy and Michael. Her boys were her world.
She later returned to Clement School as a teacher's assistant where she would touch many lives and forge lifelong friendships. She found great joy in many of God's creations including growing and nurturing flowers, notably her prized orchids; watching birds especially hummingbirds and watching Marilyn's squirrels.
Her greatest passion was caring for and loving her family. She relished every moment spent with her boys, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her special nieces: Ellen, Paulette, Julie, Frankie and their late sister, Shirley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Odell, her beloved son Timothy as well as her seven siblings. Surviving to cherish her memory and to carry on her legacy of love are: sons Dwight (Marilyn), Michael (Barbara), daughter-in-law, Becky Spell, grandchildren Kandi Small (Tommy), Gina Robinson (Jim), Cameron Spell (Angel), Keith Spell (Gina), Clint Spell (Jamie), Christopher Spell (Kristen) and great grandchildren Zoie Warren, Nate Small, Mackenzie Small, Connor Spell and Corie Barefoot (Johnathon).
The family would like to thank the staff of Community Hospice for the loving care that they provided. She truly loved Carly, Tommie and Mikki.
