DR. AGAPITO L. FAJARDO, 75

To me, his name was Dad. Some fondly referred to him as "Doc" ; those closest to him called him "Pit". No matter how you knew him or what you called him…I only ask that you do not forget him.

Dad loved his family, his friends and his beloved community. He did not spare any of us the harsh truth if it proved necessary for our well-being.

Dad humbly embraced being a “country doctor” and his patients often reciprocated their appreciation with seasonal fruits and vegetables, plants and flowers, cakes, pies, crafts (and even more cake!). He loved to eat almost as much as he loved to cook. Among his most cherished keepsakes are family recipes gifted to him throughout the years, all of which he kept together, every manually-typed or handwritten original. Dad was always thankful for any little thing but he was even more grateful for the thoughtfulness of just being remembered.

For the last 2 years I was fortunate to have the opportunity to proudly stand next to him as he fought so many battles with his health as well as my mom's. The isolation following that first year of the pandemic took an emotional toll on everyone. But for Dad, his own health took him completely out of the game. He would sadly read aloud obituaries of those we knew and shared with me memories of his own. His posture was that of defeat as he felt side-lined from what he loved most; the ability to help as a physician.

Dad’s passing was sudden and has left our family with a devastating void. He touched the hearts and lives of so many, it is a cruel twist of fate that we were unable to say our goodbyes or honor him in the manner he so deserves. Dad did not want a service and with the everchanging pandemic, my mom’s health condition restricts visitation

Please help us in rememberIng him with a card, comment or memory you have of my father. Ask others as well. Dad could be quite a character, let it be funny or sentimental and you can send privately or mail if you wish. My intentions are to compose a memoir for each of my brothers and my mom. Thank you for all the years of love and support.
