James Franklin Odum

James Franklin Odum, 85 of Kingsport, Tennessee and formerly of Roseboro, entered Heaven on April 30, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM  on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro, North Carolina with the Reverend Tommy Honeycutt and Reverend Tom Hayes officiating. The burial will follow at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Roseboro.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday,  May 3, 2024 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.

Mr. Odum was a native to Sampson County, the son of H.M. and Gertrude Green Odum. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Lilma Jackson Odum, his mother and father, his brother, Earl Odum, and his sisters, Bonnie, Rachel, and Margaret.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Pamela Goodchild, (Ron) Kathy Cole, (John), grandchildren, Johnathon Price (Jamie) Jessica Donely (Cody) Misty Bailey, (Joey), Jacqueline Young, (Joe) 12 Greatgrandchildren and his sisters Ellen Williams and Lousie Ada Carter.

The family would like to thank the Orchard View Long Term Care facility, for their love, attention and care, Special thank you to his nurses, Cora and Elizabeth and to Amedisys Hospice, Kingsport TN.
