On Monday, September 24, 2018, Richard George Sisko, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 71. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., with services held at 3 p.m., on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Legacy Chapel in Madison, Alabama. He will be laid to rest at the T.J. Hall Family Cemetery in Autryville, North Carolina at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018.
Rick was born on December 14, 1946, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to George and Janina (Ratajczak) Sisko. In 1964, Rick joined the United States Army to see the world and served until 1967. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, Rick began his career in the banking industry as a teller in North Carolina. While working full time and raising a family, Rick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) in 1979.
After a long and successful career working for several major banks, Rick retired in 2015, and moved to Madison, Alabama. However, retirement did not slow Rick down. A devout Catholic and former State Deputy of the Knights of Columbus, Rick remained active with the Knights and his new church, Most Merciful Jesus Catholic Church. He was also a member of and served on the Board of Directors of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Rick is survived by sister Christine Sisko of Edwardsville, Pennsylvania, daughter Kimberly Sisko Ward of Tallahassee, Florida, son Richard Bryan Sisko of Harvest, Alabama, former wife and caregiver Gloria Dean Autry of Stedman, North Carolina, cousin Beverly Kazamski, and countless friends. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
