Rev. Charles Alan Gore

SALEMBURG, NC

Rev. Charles Alan Gore, 69 of Salemburg, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 at his home.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00pm (noon) on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Corinth Baptist Church, 991 Corinth Church Road, Salemburg, with Reverend W.A. Creech officiating.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00-11:50am prior to the service.

Alan was born on December 13, 1949 in New Hanover County, North Carolina.  He received an Associate's Degree from Fruitland Baptist Bible College of Hendersonville.  He was a Southern Baptist Minister for over 30 years having served at Piney Green Baptist Church of Salemburg, Wadeville Baptist Church of Mt. Gilead, East Albemarle Baptist Church of Albemarle, and Mary's Chapel Baptist Church of Clinton.  He also served as a Hospice Chaplain in Albemarle.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles William and Maxine Hayes Gore; and his sister-in-law, Sharon Suggs Gore.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol P. Gore; two sons, Christopher Alan and wife Brandelyn Marie Gore of Concord, and Andrew Franklin Gore of Myrtle Beach, SC; three grandchildren, Sarah Madelyn Gore, Christopher Caleb Gore, and Jonathan Jacob Gore; one brother, Rev. Sam Gore of Salemburg; one sister, Wanda G. and husband Donnie Bledson of Wilmington; four nephews and one niece.
