Raeford "Cooter" Almond Brewington

Mr. Raeford "Cooter" Almond Brewington, 82 of Clinton, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019.

Born on August 30, 1936 in Sampson County, Raeford was the son to the late Raeford and Carrie Brewington.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret Brewington, Madeline Parris; and brothers, Samuel Brewington, Edwin Brewington.

He was a retired farmer of 55 years in Sampson County and was known as the “Pecan Man”.  He was a hard worker, full of laughter and loved life.

He is survived by his brother, Kyle E. Brewington and wife, Doris; sister, Nola Schaeffer and husband, David; brother-in-law, Jesse Parris; sisters-in-law, Vernell Brewington, Gertie Brewington; and host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 4, at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 1165 Mt. Moriah Church Road, Clinton, with Reverend Greg Smith officiating.
