Mr. Leroy Herman Gardner, 83 of Roseboro, passed away at the Carolina Rehab Center of Cumberland on Monday, December 24, 2018.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, December 29, at the Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Hampton Faircloth officiating.

Mr. Gardner was a native of Cumberland County, the son of Leroy Heman and Mary Alma Carter Gardner.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Verna Barnes Gardner.  He was a retired Principal with the Cumberland County Schools.  He was a veteran of the Army Reserves.

He is survived by his daughters, LeCarla Royal (husband, Keith) of Stedman, and Mary Hummel of Bennington, NH; grandchildren, Carley Jones Ward (husband, Hunter) of Colorado Springs, CO, Meghan Hope Royal of Stedman, Samantha Sabo and Gabriel Dewey both of Bennington, NH; great grandchildren, Matthew Ward and Ryan Ward both of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Virginia Faircloth (husband, M.S.) of Hope Mills; and brother, Charles Gardner (wife, Janet) of Hope Mills.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Friday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and at others times at the home of his daughter, LeCarla Royal, 5191 Jaycee St, Stedman.
